Rajkumar Rao and Genelia Deshmukh support the ‘it’s just a period’ campaign started by Stayfree.

Stayfree had started the ‘it’s just a period campaign focusing on the girls who would be getting their first periods in the lockdown. The message conveyed by the advertisement is to voice the silence and whispers associated with the periods and consider it a taboo. The campaign which was started on 29th May has witnessed the support of many along with Rajkumar Rao, Genelia Deshmukh and P.V. Sindhu.

About the campaign started by Stayfree:-

Stayfree, the sanitary pad brand had started a new campaign on 29th May for creating awareness about the taboos associated with periods. The awareness is specifically for girls that are going to have their first periods during the lockdown

The main aim is not to feel embarrassed while explaining about periods and talk openly. Stayfree had also posted a video conveying the distresses about each girl during a period.

 The video also estimated that around 2 million girls are going to get their first periods during lockdown; it further urged to not let them feel alone during this time and tell her it is normal. The brand conveyed it with hash tag #ItsJustAPeriod and the campaign is now extending.

P.V. Sindhu, the brand ambassador of Stayfree had posted a picture while holding a piece of paper with #ItsJustAPeriod on 30th May. P.V. Sindhu had captioned it with a message that she chooses to end all the taboo and whispers associated with period. 

P.V. Sindhu had in turn urged support for the campaign by sharing a post tagging the official page of Stayfree and putting #ItsJustAPeriod, to end it. The same message was conveyed by Rajkumar Rao while he shared a post of his picture holding a paper with #ItsJustAPeriod on 30th May.

Rajkumar Rao had also mentioned that every voice associated with the awareness matters for ending the whispers and having a conversation about it. Rajkumar Rao had also urged to support and share such a post in order to end the stigma surrounding periods. 

Genelia Deshmukh had also shared a similar picture of herself holding a paper on 30th May for treating period natural and a hormonal change. Genelia Deshmukh had also urged people to come together and not let a young girl go through it alone while she had her first period. 

Stayfree had also reposted these posts shared by Rajkumar Rao, Genelia Deshmukh and P.V. Sindhu and thanked them for giving their invaluable support.
