Punjab CM Amarinder Singh had conducted a Covid Preparedness review VC meeting on Thursday for discussing the peak seen in cases of coronavirus. With regards to the meeting, the Punjab Government on Friday had approved guidelines with detailed holiday and weekend restrictions. The new order by the Punjab Government has additional restrictions along with considering the present situation of Punjab, while India reached the mark up of 3 lakh corona cases.

Punjab CM Amarinder Singh had conducted a Covid Preparedness review VC meeting on Thursday for discussing the peak seen in cases of coronavirus. The Punjab CM Amarinder Singh in the meeting had also stated that he will do anything for saving the lives of Punjabis, even if he had to make an implementation of stricter laws.
Punjab CM Amarinder Singh further stated that he shall take the decision particularly when there are projections of pandemic to peak over next two months. With regards to the meeting, the Punjab Government on Friday had approved guidelines with detailed holiday and weekend restrictions.
About the guidelines approved by Punjab Government and the orders given for the same:-
The guidelines conveyed that barring the e-pass holders, no inter-district movement shall be given allowance. The issuance of e-pass will be through the COVA App, also for getting permission for movement on weekends. However, in case of medical emergency, without a pass shall be given permission.
They also convey that the operation of shops dealing with essential commodities to continue on all days, however till 7 p.m. only. The operation of liquor shops and of Restaurants operating by home delivery or take-away will be allowed for operating only till 8 p.m. on all days. The guidelines further convey that the shops being operated in shopping malls or are standalone not to be operated on Sunday.
These shops will operate till 5.p.m only on Saturday along with strict compliance of timings, as directed by district authorities. There would also be a consultation taken by District Magistrates from the market association based on the closure of Sunday for operation of non-essential shops. It will be consulted from them that there can be a closure in their operation on any other day of week especially in high-risk areas.
The requirement of e-pass, along with inter-district movements would be for marriages and issued only for marriages containing 50 people.The Punjab CM Amarinder Singh concerns over increase in cases appealed to the people of the State to adhere to the health guidelines and protocols.
